For 12 years we've been writing murder mystery dinners for South Africans. We bring all the costumes, characters and clues. You don't need to bring anything. Just arrive, choose one of the wild South African Murder Mystery characters, get dressed up and have fun!
Our South African Murder Mystery themes, characters and costumes are facilitated for you in such an interactive way that you'll see a side of your friends and colleagues that you just never knew they had!
By dressing up and becoming the characters in our murder mystery stories, adults are able to leave their office personalities behind.
This is different to other teambuilding because so often adults bring their corporate persona's to their teambuilds, and even though they're in a new setting ,office colleagues at other teambuilding often still relate to each other in the same way. "You always treat your boss like your boss", except when your boss is dressed as 'Daisy de Melktert'. Then suddenly the dynamic changes and you see a hilarious new side of one another.
Through the use of costumes and characters we allow adults to step outside of themselves for an evening, to leave the office behind and see another side of their friends and colleagues.
Believe me I was amazed, I did not recognise our CEO who was dressed up as a tarty lady with a serious hormone problem, sporting a full moustache.
This party theme was enjoyed to the full, with a lot of laughter, jokes, acting and photographs to "show and tell".
On the last day of the conference the attendees were requested to complete an Evaluation Form. The scoring was from 1 to 5, with 5 as the highest.
Ninety percent of the attendees scored Friday evening's Murder Dinner as 5+5, a 10 out of 5. The remaining guests all scored 5.

This means that our stories are easy for South Africans to relate to and participate in because they contain characters, places and plots that South Africans can identify with. But unlike real life, ours are just very, very funny!
If it's not South African, it's not for us. We do not host pre-boxed murder mysteries, board games, or murder mysteries written for an overseas audience.
Our professional and more importantly, charasmatic murder mystery hosts who will immerse you and your guests in your dinner story. That charisma is what live entertainment is all about. We could pre-record it for you, but that just wouldn't be fun.
Your host will guide you through all the stages of the evening step by step; help with characters, costumes, clues and gameplay, and arouse your crowd. Your host will also take care of all the behind the scenes work too.
That means that your host will take photos for you, liaise with the conference venue, arrange running orders with the waiters at your restaurant, or prompt you when to pop your lasagna into the oven so that it's ready on time. Our hosts do everything so that you don't have to. You can just sit back and enjoy the show.
All of your guests get to play a character in the murder mystery, everybody gets to be part of the evening. Because we are the authors of all our stories we are very flexible with the numbers you can have per table. So it doesn't matter if you have 8 people at a table or 11, or a mix somewhere in between, all your guests will be part of the story.
Our stories are written so that nobody is left out. If you didn't make speeches as school, dont worry! You don't need to be star from "Whose Line Is It Anyway" to enjoy yourself. All the wit is written for you and your host will explain everything.
Wow! what a lot of fun .... I am convinced that our department should now have our very own amateur dramatic society!!!!!!!

Over the last 12 years we have found that it's better to let guests choose their characters and costumes together as a group and as part of the show. People have more fun at our events because we supply costumes so everybody can choose their own wigs, hats, fake boobs, dresses, jackets, pants and accessories together, as a team.
You see, we found that if you send characters out before your murder mystery party you have to be very careful about who you ask to play which character, but if you allow people to choose characters together they are more comfortable.
By the same token if you ask people to arrive dressed up some people will make a real effort and some will just arrive wearing a hat. By human nature, if you ask people to do something alone, they will be scared of looking foolish, but if you allow people to get dressed up as a team they will go all out. It's all about doing it together.

We have taken all the admin out of planning your murder mystery dinner party. Above you read that we supply costumes so that you don't have to worry about that.
We also make up Murder Mystery invitations for you so that you don't have to worry about those either.
And because we know that the organiser often ends up running about taking photographs, talking to the waiters or conference organiser, or looking after the food, we will do all of that for you as well.
To round it off, we supply fantastic framed Murder Mystery certificates so that you don't have to dash around looking for prizes for your guests. Everything is done by us so you don't have to worry about a thing.
